Property Manager

Position Overview

Fairhaven Property Group is a dynamic and rapidly growing real estate investment firm that specializes in property acquisition, development, and management. Fairhaven Property Group is seeking a part-time Property Manager to manage our property portfolio in Dunedin. Hours of work are 25 per week, although additional hours may be required during busy periods. This is a self-managing role requiring exceptional time management, organisational, and customer service skills.

Location: Hybrid - Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand / Remote

 

Responsibilities

  • Advertising and listing properties on the market, including marketing the property through various channels to attract potential tenants, using engaging descriptions and quality photographs to highlight the property's best features.

  • Reviewing applications for tenancy including background checks and tenancy documentation. This includes evaluating tenant applications, conducting thorough background checks, and ensuring all tenancy agreements are complete and legally compliant.

  • Generating detailed financial reports that track all income and expenses associated with the property, helping owners make informed decisions.

  • Keeping the property management database (Palace) updated with all tenant information, financial transactions, and scheduled property activities to ensure efficient management.

  • Regular inspections of the property are conducted to assess and document its condition, ensuring maintenance issues are promptly addressed to maintain its value and safety.

  • Manages the scheduling and overseeing of repairs, including coordinating with contractors and ensuring quality workmanship, to maintain the property in excellent condition.

 

Requirements

  • Proven industry experience and knowledge of the local

  • Experience in accounts – payable and receivable.

  • Strong office administration and computer skills.

  • An exceptional work ethic and professional approach.

  • Flexible, positive and have great relationship building skills.

  • The ability to work to deadlines while producing a quality result
